These are the hallmarks of men who are living and growing in their relationship with their Creator. As men, we have particular and unique responsibilities in society. For long, we avoided these responsibilities and in so doing, we let down our employers, our communities and the ones we love the most. At New Life, we have men who know all about those bad, old days, but also about redemption. And so we teach: First, that faith is a verb-- it is something we do. We show how work is more than just a way to make money, it is a method of learning to stand up and move forward when everything inside us wants to lay down. Finally, we demonstrate that leadership is first, and foremost, service-- and God shows us the direction.
He gives us the strength.
We know then, that drugs and alcohol never were the problem at all.
DIRECTOR (Left)
After decades of "experience" with active addiction, Robert Patton and James Taylor met in rehab, and together envisioned a place where men could have a safe place to heal from addiction, learn the good word of Jesus Christ, and actually put it to work in their lives. And yet, at the end of it, have enough money to step back into society and into their families, and resume their responsibilities as fathers, sons, husbands and employees. Together they started New Life Sober House, where they teach what the3y learned: that they can only keep what they have by giving it away.

SOBER HOUSE DIRECTOR
James Taylor and Robert Patton started New Life Sober House with only a vision and prayer. Since then, they have been able, with God's help, bring their vision into reality. As Director of the Sober House, James uses his experience, strength and hope to help men rebuild their lives, one brick at a time. Known for his quick wit, and his strong hand, James Taylor shows by example what it means to truly be a "man in recovery." Well known in the recovery community of South Central Alabama, James (and Robert) are also known for bringing the message and hope of recovery to men in jails and prisons.
DIRECTOR OF SECURITY
A veteran of several Christian-based outreach missions, Dustin Kelso came to New Life and found his forever home. Dustin left a permanent imprint on New Life by being the architect of morning Bible studies, a beloved part of the program, where men read the Word, and discuss how to put it to work in their lives. Besides being the "enforcer-in-chief" of the rules and regulations here, Dustin is also the Director of New Life Construction Ministry, where he puts decades of skill and experience to work here and around the community.
